The Master of Health Science in Anesthesia (MHSA) Program is a comprehensive 28-month graduate program designed to prepare students for a rewarding career as an Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA). The program is offered through a unique partnership between Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (bobÌåÓý) and Bluefield University and is available at two campus locations: bobÌåÓý–Auburn in Auburn, Alabama, and bobÌåÓý–Carolinas in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

At both locations, students benefit from a curriculum that blends advanced medical education with hands-on clinical experience in supportive and forward-thinking academic environments. Students in the MHSA program are trained to become essential members of the anesthesia care team, working under the medical direction of physician anesthesiologists. The curriculum emphasizes patient assessment, anesthesia planning and administration, and post-anesthesia care, ensuring that graduates are fully equipped to provide safe, high-quality anesthesia services.

Through diverse clinical rotations in a variety of healthcare settings, students gain real-world experience with a broad range of anesthetic techniques and patient populations. These immersive experiences foster both technical expertise and compassionate care—hallmarks of the anesthesiologist assistant profession.

Upon completion of the program, graduates are eligible to sit for the certification exam administered by the National Commission on Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA), opening the door to a meaningful and impactful career in the field of anesthesia.
